Alexi Erenkov

Alexi Erenkov holds a BA in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University (2005). Throughout his college years he performed in local wineries and restaurants with his combo “The Erenkov Trio.” After graduating Alexi landed a position as saxophonist for the Celebrity Orchestra aboard Celebrity Cruise Lines’ ship the Century.

He is currently living in the Portland area and performing on saxophone, clarinet, and flute with his jazz combo Duo Duo, which features a revolving cast of fantastic musicians. As a teacher Alexi’s main goal is to foster a love of music in his students. This is accomplished by spending lesson time discussing music in general, sharing CDs, and playing music students find interesting. While lessons do predominantly focus on fundamental technique applicable to both jazz and classical idioms, students are always encouraged to make music and have fun.
