Sarah Bio

Sarah Vraneza has been playing flute for 16 years and teaching for 9 years. Her interest in music began in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she was played in school bands and local ensembles until her graduation from high school. She began her teaching career during her training at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1999, where she studied with Dr. Ronda Mains. Throughout this period, she also led Masterclasses and Sectionals at summer music camps.

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (2004), Sarah moved to Colorado to further her career at the University of Denver. While pursuing her graduate coursework, Sarah also taught Aural Skills and Music Theory classes to freshmen and sophomores at the university. She completed a Master’s degree in Classical Flute Performance under the instruction of Pamela Endsley in 2006.

While in Denver, Sarah played with both the Lamont Symphony Orchestra and the Lamont Wind Ensemble. She also performed throughout the Denver area with guitarist, Duston Stout, for various events.

Sarah has experience teaching to all ability levels, having worked with children as young as age 9 through experienced adults. Her students learn in a fun yet professional environment through a variety of techniques, including note reading, ear training, sight reading, counting out rhythms, and listening to recordings.
